Tile 8.

Egypt or Syria.

A square stone paste tile crisply painted in underglaze pale blue. Two freely drawn trefoil cartouches occupy the central register which in turn are filled with trefoil leaf elements each separated by a cross hatched design all reserved against a white background. The remaining surrounding area is filled with leaf motifs and peony designs reserved against a blue background. All contained within a thin blue border
Early 15th century.

Condition: Repaired. One clean break.
