Taka - Mingei

 Mingei - Hawk/Taka {Sasano Bori Ningyo}

{Mingei carving from Yamagata prefecture. Taka carvings have a history of about 1200 years.

This type of wood carving was dedicated to one of the shrines to pray for better wealth in the area.

A special knife {sarukuri}is used to carve this.
